Freelance graphic designer for hire!
After an eventful youth in South Africa, studying marketing and industrial psychology at the University of Port Elizabeth I decided the world had a lot to offer. So I headed for the great blue yonder, where, after numerous adventures and dozens of countries I eventually ended up in Switzerland.
There I met a wonderful girl, discovered paragliding, settled in Interlaken and realized I had a natural affinity for mountain life. In order to avoid the cold, nasty winter I spent six months of every year traveling around the world with the above mentioned girl, who had by now developed into a beautiful woman. Finally after several years she mentioned the fact that she wanted kids, so I had a long hard look at my life and decided that the glamour of working as a bungy guide, dive instructor, cook and part time jeweller had worn off. It was time for a change, so in my normal manner of plunging into every challenge without allowing any sort of thought or plan to clutter my mind, I changed everything.
I decided to resort back to my original field, brush up on my computer skills, finally learned German and founded Origins Design in 1998. In retrospect it was a wonderful decision and I have been appreciating my much calmer lifestyle ever since. Today I enjoy a somewhat more sedentary life and spend my free time annoying my kids, paragliding, arguing with my business partner Pat, re-inventing the Japanese kitchen and reading in the hammock with a fine scotch.
